Hack the Hood seeks a purpose-driven educator/facilitator to join our team at headquarters in Oakland, CA as a Bay Area Tech Ladder Instructor.
Bay Area Tech Ladder (BATL) is a six-month career and job search skills training program to prepare young adults of color from low income communities for high-skill careers in the technology and innovation economy within the San Francisco Bay Area. BATL partners include Hack the Hood, an award winning workforce training organization, NOVA Workforce Development, a nationally-recognized Sunnyvale-based job training agency, Virgil, a best-in-class career navigation and assessment platform, and the Economic Advancement Research Institute (EARI), an innovative research and consulting firm focussed on economic mobility, diversity and inclusion.
Key elements of the program include skill assessment and development, career discovery, peer-to-peer coaching, resume development, networking and access to career and educational opportunities.
Two weeks of staffer time are budgeted for onboarding at start and two weeks for wrap-up at close of program.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, and have an appetite to help build a world-class organization. The individual will have the following skills and experiences:
Bachelor's or AA degree preferred. Experience working in tech-informed job or tech industry a plus. Workforce development experience program an additional plus.
