Helping Small Businesses Thrive in the Digital Economy:
Small Business Growth and Development Manager at Hack the Hood
Location: Headquartered in OAKLAND, CA
Job Category: Full Time, non-exempt Employee
Reports To: Chief Innovation Officer
Compensation commensurate with experience
Hack the Hood was launched just five years ago to build a tech sector that works for everyone. We support under-resourced youth of color in communities around the state and the country to build 21st century careers in technology and social media. We turn the digital economy from threat to opportunity by joining our youth with the 58% of small businesses that don’t have a website. As one of the first organizations in this field, our programs aim to ensure that tech is making the world better for all the communities it intersects.
We are looking for a visionary leader for our small and medium business (SMB) work. Your primary calling in this job will be to help small and medium businesses in the Bay Area and around the country fully join the digital economy. That work starts with recruiting, serving and managing the SMBs we pair with our amazing youth to develop what is often those their first online presence. Taking off from our present approach to SMB development and growth, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a vision of how the kinds of SMBs we work with can continually expand their digital competency and grow their businesses with the help of our youth and our corporate partners.
Work at Hack the Hood is strongly collaborative. We achieve amazing things not just through hard work, but through the value we place on our relationships with the young people we serve, with each other, our community, and the businesses, small and large, that we partner with. Come join us!
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a committed team doing important, innovative work across our region. The position offers growth opportunities, great community engagement and tangible measurements of outcomes and impact. Interested candidates apply here.
