Mayra Vega is the Senior Manager of Career Pathways on the Hack the Hood team. She believes that access to education in technology and tech spaces is an integral part of building stability in communities of color most impacted by their proximity to prominent tech hubs.
Mayra has been working with under-resourced communities helping them achieve productive lives for over 10 years. Most recently she worked at Peninsula Bridge supporting highly motivated low-income first-generation high school students by helping them access opportunities through career exposure and higher education
Mayra is the proud daughter of immigrants, first generation Latina, and Bay Area native. She holds a BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Outside of work, Mayra enjoys adventures outdoors hiking, backpacking, and engaging in any water related activities.
