Sharmaine Webb is Hack the Hood’s People Operations Lead. She is responsible for reinforcing the organization's culture, embedding our values throughout internal programs, designing and leading employee engagement and development programs, as well as talent management strategies to support our goals. She is passionate about creating an engaging work environment for our phenomenal staff to do their best work while also providing them with support and resources that allow them to thrive in their roles to ultimately help our students succeed.
Throughout her career, she has strived to develop programs and strategies that operate with a people-first mentality to ensure employees' voices are always heard and valued when making decisions. Prior to Hack the Hood, Sharmaine had the opportunity to experience both non-profit and tech, as she served two years as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year and worked for a few tech start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Sharmaine is a graduate from the University of California, Riverside, with a B.A in Political Science/Law & Society. Outside of work, she is working on her green thumb, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, learning new recipes, and watching all the Netflix documentaries.
