As the Senior Program Manager at Hack the Hood, I’m committed to creating long-lasting change within marginalized communities throughout the Bay Area. My interest in Hack the Hood originally came from the passion I developed while coordinating programs that supported low income and marginalized students as they pursued career and educational opportunities. I now have over 8 years of experience working directly with transitional age youth across California, helping them navigate challenges, build life skills, and access the resources they need to succeed.

My family came here as refugees from Afghanistan, and we relied on government assistance for much of my childhood. I often helped my parents navigate the social services system, and those experiences shaped my values and strengthened my commitment to supporting marginalized communities. I understand the realities of growing up in low income environments, facing cultural and racial barriers, and trying to figure things out without a safety net. As a woman, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a person of color, I’m grateful to be in a role where I can contribute to meaningful change and help bridge gaps in our communities.
