Jabari Alii is a developer, educator, creative technologist, and community leader currently serving as Director of Programs and Partnerships at Hack the Hood. An Oakland native, Jabari has built a career at the intersection of technology, education, creativity, and community—bringing the same curiosity and love of learning to every space he enters.
His path into tech has been anything but conventional. With a foundation in music and education, Jabari grew into game development, sound design, project management, and technology, working across organizations including Meta and Skydance, as well as mission-driven organizations like The Hidden Genius Project. Along the way, he has continued to make space for the next generation, helping young people see technology not simply as an industry to enter, but as a tool they can use to tell stories, build things, solve problems, and shape their communities.
Jabari has shared his experience and perspective through workshops, panels, and talks at events including AfroTech, the Game Developers Conference, and San Diego Comic-Con. His work in games and interactive media reflects his belief that technology can give our voices power to change the world. And he is driven to empowering our youth to realize their potential and transform their world for the better.
